Rounding out the weekend...

Not sure where this one went, but it’s gone and now there’s only tomorrow.

Spent the morning in research, then went out and raked leaves for a few hours. Took a Starbuck’s break around 3:00. Made a brief trip to the gym after that.

Keeping a close eye on Kit, who seems to have slowed down again. He balked at his meds this morning, but was good about them tonight.

Christmas tree is up and lit. Gonna take our time with the decorations. S down with a respiratory thing, so need her to get some rest.

Not sure what the week’ll bring, but hoping it’s a dose of energy and some good luck.

Taking it easy tonight.

An uneventful one...

A tangle of a day.

Lots of come and go.

Number one accomplishment? Getting the Christmas tree into the living room, and properly situated to the kitties approval.

Bronchial crud’s descended on the house, despite all efforts to keep it at bay. We’ll have to wait and see how it shakes out. So far, we’re holding our own.

Got a late afternoon nap. Short but sweet.

Put in some good work at the keyboard, too.

Coming round the mountain...

Over, under, sideways, down.

Spent most of the day on the road, walking the mountainsides in Pike National forest searching for a replacement Christmas tree after our “other” tree sprouted legs and disappeared from the front lawn.

Got in some writing at the days bookends, and a brief FB chat with the boys as we were coming down the pass.

Blustery day. Difficulties with Kit’s meds. Non-connects with a few folks I’d have liked to caught up with. Hoping for a more solid showing tomorrow.

Got My Mojo Working...

Nice warm day today.

Big winds predicted for tomorrow. Some up to 70 and 80 mph. Gonna have to batten down the hatches, I guess.

New pill distribution method for Mr. Kitcat a success—at least as those things go. We’ll see where his health drifts from here. Poor guy is losing weight and slowing down, but who among us isn’t.

Pleasant surprise this morning. Came out to the cottage to find an acceptance slip in my inbox. The Forge Literary Magazine out of San Mateo, California. Alums, like Kevin Barry, are soon to include yours truly.

Time for an experiment...

Busy day.

Sun came out and the temps rose, and I probably should’ve gone for a walk this afternoon.

No matter. Got in some good writing, and a good workout at the gym. Rest of the day? Beats me. I honestly can’t remember.

Gonna try a new med routine with Kit in a minute or so. Tired of trying to work around his finicky habits. We’ll see how it goes.

Cold snap...

Temps dropped pretty good overnight. Teens, maybe. Got a dusting of snow, too, though nothing to write home about.

Had a nice morning writing, and a pretty good afternoon at the gym. Ran a few errands this afternoon and put a few more of the Christmas ornaments in order.

Kitcat’s back playing coy with his meds, but seems okay for the moment. He’s been sticking pretty close at night, sleeping in my arms. Been enjoying my time with him, and trying not to get ahead of myself.

Looking ahead to a quiet night.

The edge of tomorrow...

So, a typical Monday, I guess.

Ups, downs, and in-betweens.

Had a productive morning at the keyboard, and managed a good workout at the gym.

Not much else to talk about.

Cold weather never arrived, nor did the snow. Maybe it’ll surprise me tomorrow morning.

Cooked up a pot of vegetable soup for dinner. Maybe it’ll be a surprise all its own.

Creeping closer...

Woke at 2:00 am last night and thought it was morning. The grandfather clock chimed three, then four, before I finally went to sleep. Not sure what that was about. Been feeling pretty well, and haven’t had anything particularly tragic on my mind, so who knows. Just getting old, I guess.

Put in a good day writing despite the lack of sleep, and feel like maybe I’ve found my groove again. Or a new groove. Whatever it is, I’ll take it.

Caught up with the boys a little before noon and had a nice long talk with them about Christmas, and of course their vacation in the Spanish Wells. Was good to see them healthy and happy and excited about the holidays.

Went out shopping this afternoon, and scored a couple of things for D and his dog. Gotta get working on the tree tomorrow. Haven’t had a hard workout at the gym, and look forward to that, too.

Tonight, trying a new pork chop recipe. Other than that, just looking to kick back and take it easy.

Oh, baby...

So, I’ve thought it through. And…I still don’t have an answer. What I do have is a brand new Christmas tree, harvested (o-so-legally) from the San Isabel National Forest, yesterday, after a breathtaking drive through the Rockies.

Breathing out...

Lost the handle on this one, but managed to come out ahead anyway.

Up early to the keyboard where I got in some decent work before going off to run errands.

Boys’ book is out the door to the printer! Game hens are brining. Christmas decorations are slowly making their way into the house.

Thanksgiving dinner with K tomorrow.

Grateful for the friends and family I have.

Let the festivities begin...

Spent most of the day noodling with the boys’ Christmas book. Should have it off to the printer in another week or so. Glad to have put it together, glad the way it turned out, glad to know it’s out of my hair soon.

Weather warmed a bit today. Not sure where it’s heading, but it was a nice afternoon.

Left home before noon for a workout. Gym was mostly empty. Came home, proofread, and read a little.

K back from Europe.

Thanksgiving just around the corner.

An unexpected snowfall...

Gotta say it didn’t exactly go the way I thought it would, but it turned out okay just the same.

Woke early—really early—thinking it was morning. But it wasn’t. It was the moon glow on four inches of fresh snow.

Made a morning marathon of shoveling the neighbors’ sidewalks, and have to say it felt good. Wrote a while afterward, then headed off to the gym.

Killed the rest of the afternoon proofing the boys’ Christmas book.

Dealing with some awfully cool weather here, but it’s that time of year and there’s nothing to do about it.

Not sure what tomorrow’s gonna bring, but looking forward to it.

Tonight, just kicking back and relaxing.

Catching up...

Got a good jump on things this morning. Banged out some good edits. Later, met my buds Sol and Dan for coffee.

Nice quiet afternoon. Have begun Christmas-ing up the house—the earliest in a long time.

Spent most of the day in research, but took a little time off to shop and goof around. No gym, but that’s okay. Figure I had a day off coming to me, and now I’ve taken it.

Tonight, kicking it.

Boys leave tomorrow for the Spanish Wells. Will be thinking of them.

Narrowed it down to this...

Thought I might be able to squeeze more out of the day than I did. Even so, no complaints. Did some good work at the keyboard, got in a nice workout, and made some advances Christmas shopping.

Got the carpets cleaned, too.

Cold day today, but supposed to get even colder tomorrow. Through the weekend as well, though that may change.

No big thoughts, no crises to contend with, nothing to deal with but tomorrow. I like that.

Easy Tuesday.

Early to rise, early to work. Put in a solid morning at the keyboard before going off to PT.

Good session, good workout.

Went shopping most of the afternoon, but got in a nice walk around the neighborhood first. Pretty chilly today. Not sure what the temp was, but there were snow flurries blowing in from the west. The front range was misted over with a long gray cloud.

Forties tomorrow, or so we’re told. Looking forward to a nice sunny day.

Tomorrow's a good time to catch up...

So, it went like this…

You slept better than you had in days, woke early, worked long, forewent the gym, and spent the better part of the afternoon shopping.

And it felt good.

Last stop was the Tattered Cover.

Browsed a few books, enjoyed a nice latte, and did as little as possible that might have resembled work.

Looking forward to a quiet evening.

Chill...chilly...chills...

Bad night’s sleep. Some kind of relapse. Chills, sore throat.

Managed to get out to work at a decent hour, despite feeling cruddy, and put in two N reviews before heading out to the movies.

Saw The Banshees of Inishherin and thought it was one of the best flicks I’ve seen all year. Maybe longer.

Went out for a walk when we got home, then started dinner.

Cold today. Eighteen, maybe. Still, the sky was blue and the sun was shining. All in all, a good Saturday.

This, and not a whole lot more...

So, i feel like I let this one get away from me.

Woke half an hour later than usual, saw the snow outside the bedroom window, and drifted into a lazy morning. Worked on a new short for a while, then went off to the gym where I got stymied a second time by would-be cage fighters, amateur grapplers, taking up most of the workout space. Did okay in the end, but felt as if I’d left something on the cutting room floor. Maybe it was for the best.

Did a little grocery shopping later in the afternoon, and decided on baked potatoes and wine for dinner. A cold front moved in overnight, and sapped our ambition for much else.

Called the boys around four-thirty, and had a nice twenty-minute conversation before they ran off to play some new game they’d recently discovered.

Movie tomorrow.
